Podcast production
Dynamic mics at a shared table, engineer monitoring, and an edit path tuned for dialogue—not singing. We host two in-studio voices by default and support hybrid sessions when guests join remotely from Shibuya.

Podcast production at valvularcloudco in Tokyo targets conversation-first shows: interviews, co-hosted talk, and internal audio series. Voice recording fits sung or read takes in the iso booth; this menu assumes longer dialogue, multiple speakers, and episode-level delivery.
Pricing is VAT-inclusive (10%): hourly studio time, a two-hour recording block, or a per-episode edit package. Three or more in-room voices need a heads-up when booking. Usage and guest rights are explained in podcast rights and usage.
How it works
Plan
Share episode count, target length, guests, platform, and deadline via contact. We reply within 2 business days with a plan and quote.
Setup
We set mic distance, pop control, and headphone mixes. Remote guests receive a mix on an agreed VoIP or remote-recording path.
Record
Dynamic mics capture the table; engineers watch levels and room tone, marking good break points as you go.
Edit and deliver
Within scope we cut, repair noise, set spoken-word loudness, and export WAV/MP3. Terms follow rights guidance and terms and conditions.
Built for spoken word
Dialogue needs midrange clarity and dynamics that stay comfortable over long listens. We default to table dynamics, low room noise, and isolated tracks per speaker. Before editing we agree how tight filler removal should be and whether music beds appear.
Short intro reads may be cheaper as voice recording; music-heavy segments may need mixing. Series-level loudness is easiest when you book edit packs in batches.
Formats we fit well
Co-hosted talk, guest interviews, culture panels, and internal knowledge shares—especially two to three voices in the room. Solo monologues recorded in one straight take might be simpler on voice hourly rates.
Audience-facing live sessions or band performances usually start with rehearsal recording. Music-only loudness finishing belongs under mastering separately.
Studio layout
The table sits in treated space next to the control room so hosts can see each other and the engineer. The 3-room site includes a 42 m² live room for larger setups; most podcasts use the table or the 12 m² booth for one guest.
We record each mic to its own track via 32-channel routing and tune headphone mixes from 8 available pairs. Please pause for HVAC between takes when asked.
Remote and hybrid guests
When guests are remote, we import audio over an agreed VoIP or remote-recording service and align it with studio mics. Wired LAN on your side helps; Wi-Fi-only links may need a backup recording plan.
Guests can also record locally and send files later—share sample rate and clap/sync notes upfront. Whether sync fits inside the edit pack (¥33,000) depends on sources; we quote when you contact us.
What editing covers
The episode edit (¥33,000) typically assumes roughly 30–60 minutes of raw material, though shows vary. Included work: major silence trims, speaker balance, light repair of bumps and HVAC rumble, loudness targeting, and export for upload.
- Clean starts/ends and obvious retake removal
- Intro/outro padding when you specify lengths
- Spoken-word loudness near −16 LUFS unless your platform says otherwise
- Conservative gating and de-essing
Heavy restructuring, SFX design, theme songwriting, and video edits are out of scope. Terms include up to 2 revision rounds on edits.
Your prep list
Send a rundown or question list, target duration, platform, and past episode links if you have them. For scripted openings, hydration and script tips in vocal session preparation still apply.
Confirm guest name pronunciations, off-limit topics, and publish dates before tape rolls. Appearances under 18 require guardian consent per terms. Review rights and usage before guests sign or speak.

FAQ
Two-hour block vs hourly—what saves money?
Talk longer than ~45 minutes and the two-hour pack (¥13,200) often beats stacking hours (¥7,700). Add ¥33,000 when you want us to cut and export the episode.
Can you edit files we recorded elsewhere?
Yes—send tracks with sample rates noted. Sync across sources is quoted in contact if needed. Confirm third-party voice rights under rights and usage before upload.
How many hosts at one table?
Can you add theme music?
How do revisions work before publish?
After the first edit delivery you get 2 rounds under terms. Timecodes or chapter notes make cut requests faster to apply.
