How to read the rate card
All figures on mixing include Japan’s 10% consumption tax. ¥22,000 suits a single with a stable track count. ¥11,000 fits live multitrack cleanup or jobs where the channel list still changes. ¥88,000 rewards EPs mixed back-to-back with one sonic direction.
Send song order and deadlines via contact so we can slot studio time around Mon–Fri 11–22 / Sat 10–20 opening hours in Shibuya.
Information that makes quotes accurate
- Number of songs and approximate length
- Estimated track count per song
- Sample rate and bit depth of exports
- Reference tracks (streaming links or filenames)
- Streaming-only vs physical manufacturing plans
Hybrid setups—vocals at valvularcloudco, instruments tracked at home—are common. Noisy rooms or inconsistent levels add EQ and gating work. Vocal preparation guide reduces that overhead upstream.
Revisions and scope changes
Standard projects include up to 2 revision rounds after the first mix delivery (terms). Timestamped notes (for example “1:42 lead vocal −1 dB”) keep turns fast.
Arrangement overhauls, newly added stems, or full rebounces may bill at ¥11,000 or as a separate quote. Mastering is priced separately from ¥13,200; see mastering formats guide.
Stems and naming
Deliverables include a streaming-ready stereo mix plus optional stems (drums bus, vocals, instruments) via secure link or drive handoff. Use folder names such as SongTitle_Mix_v1 with explicit version tags.
Prefer ASCII track and file names. Japanese characters sometimes break when labels or aggregators re-pack files, which slows Tokyo release weeks.
Timeline, deposit, and B2B payment
We aim to answer first enquiries within 2 business days. Year-end and festival seasons fill quickly, so earlier holds help. Corporate clients may receive 30-day invoice terms where agreed (legal notice).
A 30% deposit secures the quote total before work starts; the balance follows the milestone written in your confirmation.
Quick comparison
| Option | Incl. VAT | Best when |
|---|---|---|
| Per song | ¥22,000 | Single release, known track list |
| Five-song pack | ¥88,000 | EP with shared sound |
| Hourly | ¥11,000 | Live edits, partial mixes |
When a session exports eighty-plus tracks, we may quote prep time separately or switch to hourly billing—share a rough channel list early.
What to send next
Attach a rough mix if you have one; otherwise three references plus a short “avoid list” (for example “no washed-out reverb”) is enough to align tone. File-handling basics live in FAQ.
Spoken-word seasons may fit podcast production pricing such as ¥33,000 per episode instead of song rates. Mixed use cases can be merged in one project enquiry.
Tokyo release logistics
Labels and aggregators in Japan often expect stem ZIPs before midnight JST cut-offs. Build upload time into your mastering date, especially when you also need video sync approvals. We store project files about 12 months; download masters promptly and keep offline copies.
If you are comparing quotes from multiple studios, share the same track list and reference links so totals reflect comparable scope. Hourly ¥11,000 work is ideal when you are still editing arrangement between passes.
Include whether you need instrumental TV mixes, clean versions, or acapella exports; each variant adds bounce time that we quote explicitly rather than hiding inside a per-song fee.
